On February 20, 2024, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) identified concerns with Marienelle Mariscal's practice in the areas of auditing of records, fees and billing, clinical reasoning, record keeping and consent. In this case the ICRC asked the registrant to improve their understanding in these areas by working with a practice enhancement coach to develop a process for reviewing the accuracy of financial records using her registration number, clinical decision making and record keeping, documenting informed consent and reviewing the related College standards, tools and resources. The registrant volunteered to do these activities.
Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting Undertakings on the public register. An Undertaking is a commitment by the physiotherapist to the College to address certain areas of practice highlighted as areas for ongoing learning in a decision by the ICRC. It is not a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence and is not disciplinary in nature. Undertakings are removed from the register when they have been completed.
