SCERP

2/1/2023

On December 7, 2022, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (“the Committee,” “ICRC”) considered the information obtained during an investigation into Eric Finstad’s conduct following a complaint made by a former patient. After reviewing this information, the Committee identified certain concerns with E Finstad’s practice. Because of these concerns, the Committee decided to require E Finstad to complete a Specified Continuing Educational or Remediation Program (“SCERP”) focused on clinical reasoning/record keeping.

Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting information about SCERPs on the public register. A SCERP is ordered by the ICRC when they have identified concerns regarding a physiotherapist’s practice or conduct. A SCERP is an educational program and is not a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence, nor is it disciplinary in nature.
