This is a summary of any charges or findings under the Criminal Code of Canada or the Health Insurance Act since July 1, 2015, or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act since May 2018.
 

As reported to the College, on March 21, 2026, in Mississauga, ON, Varun Vijay Vasudeva was charged with:

• Sexual Assault – s.271 Criminal Code of Canada

As a condition Varun Vijay Vasudeva must:

• Notify the specified Peel Police contact of any change in their address or employment within 24 hours of the change
• Not communicate, directly or indirectly, with the witness or go their address
• Attend court on the specified dates and times

On February 15, 2023, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (“the Committee,” “ICRC”) considered the information obtained during an investigation into Varun Vasudeva’s conduct and practice following a complaint made by a former patient. After reviewing this information, the Committee identified certain concerns with V Vasudeva’s conduct and practice in the areas of professional boundaries, patient communication, informed consent, patient-centered care, sensitive practice, and professional ethics. In order to emphasize the seriousness of the concerns that were identified, the Committee decided to require V Vasudeva to attend before the Committee on a date specified by the Registrar to receive a caution and participate in a Specified Continuing Education or Remediation Program (SCERP).

On April 26, 2023, Varun Vasudeva requested a review of the Committee’s decision by the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (the “Board”). On December 3, 2024, the Board released its decision to uphold the decision of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee.

On December 20, 2024, Varun Vasudeva applied for judicial review of Inquiries, Complaints, Reports Committee's and Board's decisions. On May 23, 2025, the Divisonal Court heard Varun Vasudeva's application for judicial review. The Court decided to dismiss this application and direct Varun Vasudeva to pay $3,500 in costs to the College.

Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting cautions on the public register. A caution is a decision made by the ICRC when a concern raised in a complaint or in a formal investigation is sufficient to require the physiotherapist to attend before a panel of the ICRC to receive feedback from the panel on how to prevent similar concerns from arising in the future. A caution does not involve a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence and is not disciplinary in nature.
