On December 4, 2025, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) identified concerns with Berardo Nicolas’s practice in the areas of professional boundaries, informed consent, clinical reasoning and patient communication. Berardo Nicolas is required to address these concerns through a Specified Continuing Education or Remediation Program (SCERP), which will include reviewing/completing relevant learning standards and resources and participating in sessions with a practice enhancement coach, followed by a final practice assessment.

Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting information about SCERPs on the public register. A SCERP is ordered by the ICRC when they have identified serious and/or repeated concerns regarding a physiotherapist’s practice or conduct. A SCERP is an educational program and is not a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct, or incompetence, nor is it disciplinary in nature.
