Undertakings

On May 20, 2025, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) identified concerns with Kavit Shah’s practice in the areas of assessment, diagnosis and treatment, infection control, supervision of physiotherapist assistants and fees and billing. In this case the ICRC asked the registrant to improve their understanding of these areas by completing a review of relevant standards and resources and participating in practice enhancement coaching. Kavit Shah volunteered to do these activities.

Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting Undertakings on the public register. An Undertaking is a commitment by the physiotherapist to the College to address certain areas of practice highlighted as areas for ongoing learning in a decision by the ICRC. It is not a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence and is not disciplinary in nature. Undertakings are removed from the register when they have been completed.
