On September 16, 2014 a panel of the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee referred allegations pertaining to Aerry Patel to the Discipline Committee for a hearing. 

It was alleged that Aerry Patel failed to report to the College that his business partner, SS, was practising physiotherapy while his certificate of registration was suspended from September 21, 2012 to November 2, 2012; that Mr Patel assisted his business partner, SS, to practise physiotherapy during this time and that Mr Patel falsified records and submitted accounts or charges for services that he knew or ought to have known were false or misleading.

The hearing was held on April 13, 2015. The panel accepted an agreement of the facts as submitted by the parties and found that Mr Patel had committed acts of professional misconduct. 

The panel accepted a joint submission on penalty as proposed by the parties. In doing so the panel ordered the following:

• That Mr Patel's certificate of registration is suspended for a period of 4 weeks. Mr Patel will be required to serve 2 weeks (of the 4) if he completes the following:
• Mr Patel will receive a reprimand
• Mr Patel will be required to complete an ethics course
• Mr Patel will pay costs to the College in the amount of $8000.
