On July 16, 2024, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) made a decision regarding an investigation into the conduct of Jessy Wilson. In considering the information obtained during the College’s investigation, the Committee identified concerns with the physiotherapist’s conduct in the areas of patient abandonment. Because of the serious nature of these concerns, the Committee decided to require Jessy Wilson to appear before the ICRC on a date specified by the Registrar to receive a caution regarding the issues of concern identified in the investigation.  


Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting cautions on the public register. A caution is a decision made by the ICRC when a concern raised in a complaint or in a formal investigation is sufficient to require the physiotherapist to attend before a panel of the ICRC to receive feedback from the panel on how to prevent similar concerns from arising in the future. A caution does not involve a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence and is not disciplinary in nature.

On July 16, 2024, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) identified concerns with Jessy Wilson’s practice in the areas of assessment diagnosis and treatment, discharge planning, transfer of care, communication, consent, record keeping and unprofessional behaviour. In this case the ICRC asked the registrant to improve their understanding of these areas by reviewing College Standards and resources, and working with a practice enhancement coach. Jessy Wilson volunteered to do these activities.

Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting Undertakings on the public register. An Undertaking is a commitment by the physiotherapist to the College to address certain areas of practice highlighted as areas for ongoing learning in a decision by the ICRC. It is not a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence and is not disciplinary in nature. Undertakings are removed from the register when they have been completed.
