On January 28, 2025, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) identified concerns with Tom Van Houtte’s practice in the area of record keeping. In this case the ICRC asked the registrant to improve their understanding of record keeping by completing a review of relevant standards and resources and participating in practice enhancement coaching. Tom Van Houtte volunteered to do these activities.

Since 2017, as required by law, the College has been posting Undertakings on the public register. An Undertaking is a commitment by the physiotherapist to the College to address certain areas of practice highlighted as areas for ongoing learning in a decision by the ICRC. It is not a finding of wrongdoing, professional misconduct or incompetence and is not disciplinary in nature. Undertakings are removed from the register when they have been completed.
